Roller Shutters

Made-to-measure exterior aluminum roller shutters on a contemporary residence
OUTDOOR SHADING · PRIVACY · SECURITY

Made to measure.
Built around the opening.

Exterior roller shutters for solar control, privacy, room darkening and opening protection—coordinated with the window, façade, mounting condition and controls.

From compact residential windows to storefronts and large commercial openings, ARTMETA aligns the curtain profile, guide rails, head box, operation and architectural finish. Final product, ratings and project suitability are confirmed during design review.

Solar Control, Privacy & Coordination

Positioned outside the glazing, roller shutters can help manage direct solar exposure, glare, privacy and room darkening.

  • Performance depends on glazing, product and installation
  • Aluminum or plastic curtain options by system
  • Box, guides, colours and accessories coordinated with the façade
APPLICATION-LED SELECTION

Match the shutter to the opening—and the risk.

Not every roller shutter is designed for the same task. Curtain strength, visibility, insulation, guide depth, locking and operator selection should respond to the building use and performance priorities.

01 · RESIDENTIAL

Comfort, privacy and discreet protection.

Compact exterior systems for windows and doors can help manage solar exposure, privacy and room darkening while integrating with contemporary residential façades.

02 · RETAIL & STOREFRONT

Protection after hours. Visibility when required.

Solid, perforated or open-pattern curtain directions can protect vulnerable glazing and entrances while supporting the desired level of product display and visual connection.

03 · COMMERCIAL & INSTITUTIONAL

Durable systems for exposed openings.

Shutters can be coordinated for service counters, offices, schools, community facilities and ground-level openings where vandalism deterrence and operational reliability matter.

04 · LARGE OPENINGS

Profile, guides and structure planned together.

Wide storefronts, garages and selected loading applications require project-specific review of curtain weight, head box size, guide reinforcement, substrate and operator capacity.

SYSTEM ANATOMY

Four parts. One coordinated opening.

Performance depends on the complete assembly—not the curtain alone. Early coordination protects clear opening dimensions, façade intent and long-term service access.

01

Curtain profile

Interlocking aluminum slats selected for solar control, privacy, visibility, insulation or enhanced protection.

02

Guide rails

Side tracks retain and guide the curtain. Size, reinforcement and fixing conditions follow the opening and design loads.

03

Head box

The enclosure stores the rolled curtain and shaft. Its dimensions, access and architectural integration must be planned early.

04

Operator & controls

Manual or motorized operation can include compatible switches, remotes, grouped controls, sensors and access interfaces.

DESIGN REVIEW CHECKPOINTS

Measure more than the clear opening.

A reliable shutter package starts with the surrounding construction, intended operation and access requirements. ARTMETA reviews these items before product selection is finalized.

01

Opening & guides

Clear dimensions, guide locations, mounting face and potential obstructions.

02

Headroom & box

Available height, rolling direction, enclosure size and inspection access.

03

Substrate & interfaces

Structural fixing, cladding returns, waterproofing and adjacent window or door details.

04

Operation & locking

Manual or motorized use, compatible locking strategy and daily operating sequence.

05

Power & controls

Electrical rough-in, wall controls, grouped operation, sensors and access integration.

06

Safety & compliance

Egress, accessibility, guarding and project-specific code or performance requirements.
