Warehouse & Distribution Centre Door Systems

Plan vehicle and material-flow openings around traffic, cycle frequency, environmental separation, safety, controls and service access—not just the door size.

Opening strategy

Different openings do different jobs.

Shipping & Receiving Bays

Commercial sectional, rolling or other facility doors are reviewed around clear opening, headroom, duty cycle, operator requirements and loading-bay workflow.

High-Cycle Traffic Openings

High-speed and high-performance doors can support frequent forklift or vehicle movements where cycle time, impact risk and operational continuity matter.

Conditioned & Cold Zones

Temperature separation, air leakage, condensation risk and traffic frequency should be reviewed together before selecting an insulated or rapid-operation system.

Operators, Controls & Access

Loops, sensors, remotes, readers, safety devices and interlocks should be coordinated with the door and the traffic sequence.

Project inputs

What ARTMETA reviews before product selection.

Opening & Building Conditions

  • Width, height and clearances
  • Interior or exterior exposure
  • Structure and mounting conditions
  • Power and operator location

Operational Conditions

  • Daily cycles and peak traffic
  • Forklift / vehicle direction
  • Impact and abuse risk
  • Maintenance and service access

Loading dock equipment such as levelers, vehicle restraints, seals and shelters may be by others unless specifically included in ARTMETA's written scope. Door and dock interfaces should still be coordinated early.

Common questions

Planning a logistics opening.

Do all warehouse bays need a high-speed door?

No. A commercial sectional or rolling door may be the better fit when cycles are moderate. High-speed systems become more relevant when traffic frequency, environmental separation or process continuity justify them.

Can door controls connect with access control or vehicle detection?

Where the selected operator supports the required logic, readers, loops, sensors and interlocks can be reviewed as part of the opening strategy.

Does ARTMETA supply dock levelers and restraints?

Availability is project-specific. ARTMETA currently focuses this page on door and opening systems; dock equipment supply is only included when confirmed in a written project scope.
