Residential · Entrance & Access · Completed Project
A completed residential garage entrance pairing a black Hörmann Clima Tech 4400 polyurethane-insulated steel sectional door with a LiftMaster 6690L DC belt-drive opener. The interior is finished with Garage Living Floortex® polyaspartic floor coating in the Harbor Blue finish.

Request a Residential Quote01 · Architectural fit
A dark door that belongs to the architecture.
The black raised-panel composition coordinates with the home’s dark brick, fascia and trim. It gives the wide garage opening a deliberate visual weight without separating it from the rest of the exterior.
The close views document panel proportion, surface texture, perimeter conditions and the relationship between the finished door and the surrounding façade.

02 · Door system
Insulated steel construction with published performance data.
The Clima Tech 4400 is a 1½-inch polyurethane-insulated residential steel sectional door. Hörmann describes a three-layer construction in which the polyurethane core is bonded to steel front and back skins.
- Manufacturer-published R-value: 15.7
- Manufacturer-published U-factor: 0.209
- Manufacturer-published air infiltration: 0.12 cfm/ft²
- Thermally broken tongue-and-groove section joints
- Reinforced mounting steel and weather-resistant steel finish
Published product values do not represent the performance of the complete installed opening. Size, glazing, seals, hardware and installation conditions affect final results.
03 · Operator & connected access
Quiet belt-drive operation with visibility and backup power.
The LiftMaster 6690L combines a DC motor and reinforced belt drive with built-in battery backup. Compared with a basic non-connected opener, it adds remote monitoring, diagnostics, lighting and an integrated view of the garage through the myQ platform.

- DC motor with belt drive and soft start/stop
- Built-in battery backup for operation during a power interruption
- myQ smartphone control, monitoring and diagnostics
- Integrated adjustable camera with full night vision, a 360-degree swivel mount and a 130-degree lens view
- Motion-activated 2,000-lumen LED light ring
- The Protector System® safety-reversing sensors and Security+ 3.0 communication
Smart features depend on compatible equipment, connectivity, account setup and current manufacturer service availability. During battery-backup operation, the lighting, camera, myQ remote functions and unattended-close features are unavailable.
04 · Track & opening interface
The door, track and operator work as one system.
The project photographs show the sectional panels, rollers, overhead tracks, counterbalance hardware and operator rail within the completed garage. Looking at the full assembly helps explain the space needed above and beside the opening—not only the appearance of the closed door.
Final track geometry, springing, operator selection and reinforcement must always be confirmed for the actual opening and selected door configuration.

05 · Garage flooring
Harbor Blue completes the interior.
Flooring supplied by Garage Living Lower Mainland: Floortex® polyaspartic floor coating in the Harbor Blue finish. Garage Living describes Harbor Blue as an exclusive colour blend ranging from cool slate to deep indigo.
Harbor Blue identifies the selected finish; Floortex® is the floor-coating system. Product preparation, installation requirements, care and warranty remain subject to the flooring supplier’s project documentation.

06 · Product difference
Performance, control and architectural finish in one pairing.
The 4400 adds bonded polyurethane steel-sandwich construction and higher manufacturer-published thermal values than Hörmann’s basic non-insulated and lower-tier polystyrene residential models. The 6690L adds a quiet belt-drive platform, battery backup, connected control, diagnostics, camera visibility and broad LED lighting.
Together, the products address the three questions that shape a residential garage entrance: how the door fits the architecture, how the opening performs, and how the system is operated day to day.
07 · Standards & documentation
Manufacturer claims are documented—and project requirements remain specific.
Hörmann publishes the 4400 thermal values shown above and labels the product page’s energy-efficiency category “ASHRAE® & ICC® Certified.” The page does not identify a report or listing number, so this case study does not treat that label as project approval. The official LiftMaster 6690L product guide identifies the operator as UL Listed.
The LiftMaster installation documentation also states compliance with FCC Part 15 and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada licence-exempt RSS requirements. Those statements address radio and electromagnetic compatibility; they do not replace project-specific building, electrical or installation approvals. For Canadian projects, the selected size, glazing, wind-load configuration, hardware, installation instructions and warranty eligibility must be confirmed for the exact opening before specification or supply.
Door
Insulated envelope
Polyurethane-insulated steel panels, thermal-break joints and published thermal values support a more informed door selection.
Operator
Connected access
Battery backup, myQ control, diagnostics and camera visibility extend the opener beyond basic door movement.
Architecture
Coordinated finish
The black raised-panel composition works with the home’s trim, masonry and roofline as part of one exterior language.
